Why are hybrid photovoltaic systems more expensive than grid-connected solar systems?

Because they come with a backup battery. The combined cost of the solar cells and hybrid inverter makes a hybrid solar system more expensive than a connected solar system without batteries.

How would a hybrid system provide energy without solar power?

These solar systems have batteries that store excess energy. They isolate the entire solar system from the grid and use the energy stored in the solar cells to run home appliances when there is no solar input (known as islanding).

Why switching to solar still won't save you money?

You probably aren't saving despite switching to solar, mostly because your utility doesn't offer a user-friendly net metering policy.

Second, the shade from the large number of trees on the roof can also reduce solar energy, which in turn reduces electricity production. Installing smaller solar panels also minimizes energy production due to the smaller roof size and therefore won't cut much of your bill.

Is it possible to run an entire house with solar power?

Yes of course! Lots of daily solar input and the right choice of photovoltaic panels, solar cells and inverters are some of the factors that can help power your entire home with solar energy.
